A Woman's Place [...is in the Resistance]

In lieu of a vid exchange, I'm borrowing some format/structure from other DW gift communities (fandomtrees & fandomgiftbasket) and making this year's activity a Vid Gifting Fest.

This event is both vid-focused and women-focused*.

Dates (2024)
January 22. Signups open
February 18. Signups close
February 18 - May 18. Posts open for gifting
May 19. Reveals

Sign-ups and fills will be held on DW in much the same manner communities noted above operate.

You do not need to sign up in order to fill requests and you do not need to fill requests in order to sign up (although it is appreciated if you're able to do so!)

Sign-ups/Requests
1. Use the template provided in the sign up post. Keeping your signup inside the textarea is important as it helps the mod when posting requests. Otherwise, you may tweak it to your liking or to fit your specific requests.

2. You will need to sign up with a minimum of three (3) fandoms and a minimum of two (2) material types to be guaranteed a gift. You may sign up with less, but it's possible that you won't receive a gift. Fandom requests of 'Any Fandom' can be repeated and count as separate.

3. Material types you can request:
+ Vids
+ Vid recs
+ Source or Clipped Source
+ Beta services
+ Create subtitles (*.srt files)
+ Playlist or fanmix for vid inspiration
+ Technical tutorial (video or guide)
Feel free to request something else in addition to the minimum as long as it's vid-related. Examples would be a thumbnail for YouTube or other graphic promotional banner or a title sequence for a vid.

4. Please include relevant details for what you're seeking.
Some examples:
+ If you're asking for beta services, is knowledge of the source important to you?
+ If you're seeing technical tutorials, what editor do you use?
+ Looking for subtitles for older vids in general or is there a specific vid you'd like subtitles for?
+ For a title sequence, are you looking for someone to create something specific, for a tutorial, or help finding fonts/general guidance & advice?


Comments/Fills
1. To fill a request, leave a comment on the relevant post. Comments will be screened until reveals.

2. Fills should meet the following requirements:
+ Vids should be at least 1 minute in length and reflect at least 1 character requested. Do not include anything listed as DNW.
+ Vid recs should include at least 3 vid recommendations along with notes on why you're recommending it.
+ Source or Clipped Source should be provided via dropbox, google drive, or other similar service. Please do not simply direct someone to a torrent as a gift. You may leave a comment that is an offer to provide source privately at reveals. Please do remember to come back and provide it!
+ Beta services are an 'I.O.U.' sort of gift. Please be sure to connect with your recipient after reveals to coordinate details.
+ Create subtitles (*.srt files) should be provided via dropbox, google drive, or another similar service.
+ Playlist or fanmix for vid inspiration can be hosted on YouTube or Spotify with a link provided in the fill. Do not include anything listed as DNW. Including a graphic is optional and not required.
+ Thumbnails or title sequences and any other fills for additional material should align with the request.

3. You may include your gift in the AO3 collection but are not required to do so. If you use the AO3 collection, please remember to also leave a comment on DW as it's how gifts will be tracked.

Reveals
1. Please track your gift post for reveals and remember to swing by (and to say 'thank you') for your gifts.

2. Notify the mod if you have received anything containing a stated DNW.

3. The AO3 collection will remain open for late fills.




*Vids, Vid-recs, & playlists (requests and fills) should be focused on characters who identify as women or who are aligned with womanhood. Please use your best judgement when dealing with non-binary characters.

All relationship types and combinations are eligible as long as it's largely from a woman's POV or about their journey, etc. - again use your best judgement.
